Senior Financial advisor - Life & Pensions

We are seeking a commercially driven Financial Advisor to join our team as part of our continued growth.

This role combines client advisory, revenue responsibility, and leadership. You will take ownership of an established client base while identifying opportunities to grow life and pensions revenue and enhance the overall client experience.

You will also contribute to how we operate — improving client review processes, strengthening reporting, and supporting the integration of systems and CRM across the business.

Skills required

Professional Qualifications & Experience

  • Qualified Financial Advisor designation essential
  • At least eight years’ experience in investments and pensions.
  • Strong track record advising clients across life and pensions
  • Experience managing an existing client book
  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members

Client & Team Management Skills

  • Ability to manage client relationships independently and proactively
  • Strong pipeline management and follow-up discipline
  • Effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • High attention to detail in client delivery and documentation
  • Proven ability to build trust and long-term client relationships

Business Development & Commercial Awareness

  • Demonstrated ability to generate revenue and grow a client base
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities
  • Experience working towards and achieving targets
  • Ability to contribute to forecasting, reporting, and pipeline management
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and performance dashboards

Communication & Presentation Skills

  • Clear and confident communication, both written and verbal
  • Ability to explain financial concepts in a straightforward, client-friendly way
  • Strong presentation skills in both one-to-one and group settings
  • Professional and credible client presence
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Key responsibilities

Advisory & Client Leadership

  • Manage the full advisory journey from initial engagement through to ongoing reviews
  • Prepare and present clear, high-quality client recommendations and suitability reports
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships based on trust and professionalism
  • Identify cross-selling and broader financial planning opportunities within your client base
  • Deliver advice in line with regulatory and compliance standards

Commercial & Business Development

  • Take ownership of personal revenue targets and overall performance
  • Develop and grow an existing client bank, increasing life and pensions penetration
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities within your portfolio
  • Build and maintain relationships with introducers and referral partners
  • Contribute to pipeline management, forecasting, and business reporting
  • Use CRM systems to track performance, activity, and opportunities

Leadership & Succession Development

  • Support and mentor junior advisors and team members
  • Drive consistency in advice standards and use of CRM across the team
  • Contribute to internal case reviews and performance discussions
  • Work closely with leadership on strategy, reporting, and business improvements
  • Play a role in shaping scalable processes as the business grows
